MDI Prayer Letter

Dear MDI friends:

We are heading out on an important trip and it is to more than Ukraine! We will be gone from Friday, April 11 until Wednesday, April 30, and we covet your prayers during this time. This trip has multiple purposes. The team leaving from Nashville is Randy Morgan, Steve Lorenz and me along with Tanya Baranova.

Tanya has been in Nashville since March 31 and she is now an official part of MDI. Tanya is starting an MDI ministry in Odessa, Ukraine, "Journey to Freedom," which was founded at the YMCA in Nashville. This is a partnership of MDI and the Middle Tennessee YMCA. (www.journeytofreedom.org.) Tanya joined the MDI staff in going through the leadership training at the International Summit for Journey to Freedom. We had a fundraising dinner this week to start to raise the necessary resources to get this ministry up and running in Odessa, in hopes that it becomes an international model for all of Eastern Europe. Please pray with us, that all the funding will come in, and for Tanya, as she takes this step of faith to get the ministry started.

In Kiev, Ukraine, we will be joined by Alan Freedman and Randy Lindros, from Rock Harbor Church in Orange County, CA. We will be looking at business opportunities for Alan and Randy to take back and share with a group at their church who want to invest in kingdom work and help ministries in Ukraine. This is their first trip to Ukraine along with Randy Morgan's and so we are praying that they will experience the people, the culture and the way the Spirit is moving in Ukraine.

After the Rock Harbor group leaves on Thursday, April 17, we will spend a day continuing our advising relationship with Radooga youth ministry. And also introduce Randy Morgan to our "Ukraine Family" since he is now a part of our MDI family. On Sunday, April 20, we leave Ukraine for Hungary and Romania, where we will spend 10 days meeting Randy's "Family" and hopefully and prayerfully get to know and understand the ministry that he has been leading in Eastern Europe for the past 18 years.

We are full of anticipation about this trip and also the beginning of "Journey to Freedom" and desire to experience all that God has planned for us. I read a quote this week that said, "The significance of any event is dictated by its future." We have hope for the future because our God says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from Captivity." Jeremiah 29: 11-14a

Thank you for praying for us and for the plans that God has for us.

With Joy as we seek God, Marti Scudder for the expanding MDI team
