Thank you for your partnership!!! And now MDI needs your help as we move into 2008.

We continue to mentor, encourage and advise ministries. The following are some areas where you can partner with us financially. “From Him the whole body, joined and held together...grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Ephesians 4:16

· The MDI Ministry Center in Kiev, with director, Sveta Boiko, coordinates and oversees conferences and conducts MDI business in Ukraine. The annual operating budget is $16,000.

· The Invalid Children’s Ministry of New Life Church has an annual budget of $18,000 that we are helping support. Join us!

· Radooga needs to purchase or build a facility that can be used as offices. In addition, they are looking for a site for future camps. Radooga also needs help with scholarships for Ukrainian youth to attend the summer camps, conferences and for the pastor training seminars – the cost is $220 per student. We are trying to raise money for 1000 youth.

· Women’s Conferences are being planned for October 2008. Scholarships are needed for the Ukrainian Ladies to attend. The cost is $30 each. We are hoping for 500 women to attend the conferences.

· Marti Scudder and Steve Lorenz raise personal support for their expenses to provide leadership for MDI. Both need additional funding to continue to build MDI’s ministry. In addition, Linda and Jim Burton, as MDI staff for Radooga, are also raising support. Please help them all make 2008 a record year for MDI! Please note on the enclosed card your specific designations for your contributions.

Please pray for MDI and all of the people and ministries with whom we work.

Planned events in 2008

Radooga: Tina Weir and Edee Orr are leading a team of youth and college students from Nashville to teach English Language classes at a summer camp. The MDI team is spending time with the Radooga staff in November and again in February 2008.

Women’s Conferences in October 2008: MDI is leading a team of women as they teach and minister at a conference in Kiev and another city. Please join us!

Website Development: Joe Newell, a website designer in Nashville, is changing and expanding the MDI website. Please check it out in early 2008 for many updates.

MDI continues their work as mentors, advisors, and encouragers of national ministries. Come with us!

Two MDI Officers named as Directors of Radooga USA Operations

In July 2007, around a small outdoor table outside of Kiev, MDI sat talking with Oleg Vasilevsky, president of Radooga International— a dynamic youth ministry in Ukraine that is growing at an in-credible pace. God was moving in our midst. For the past two years, we have been working with Oleg to help develop and implement a huge vision that God has given him to reach more students. This was the time to move forward. Here is a transcript of our dialogue that took place:

Steve: Oleg, you really need someone in America who would help you with Radooga.

Oleg: Sure. That would be great, but who would it be?

Marti: We thought that Jim and Linda Burton would do a terrific job.

Oleg: I agree, but everyone wants them. They are such professionals. Have you asked them?

Marti: No….. Not yet!

But two weeks later, Jim and Linda Burton agreed to head up Radooga USA! In August we joined together in announcing that Jim and Linda Burton, members of the MDI Board of Directors, assumed the leadership of the Radooga USA Operations in a partnership relationship. Their role is to manage, energize and oversee Radooga and to recruit and increase their partners in the USA. Radooga USA has developed a new sponsor plan to support the ministry in Ukraine. The goal is to raise Scholarships/Sponsors for 1000 youth for 2008 at $220 per student. This will enable a student to go to a Radooga Evangelistic English language camp, a discipleship conference and have their youth pastor trained. Please join MDI in celebrating God’s provision of this new partnership!

MDI News of 2007

MDI leadership experienced exciting growth in 2007. Steve Lorenz, CEO and Chairman of the Board, announced the promotions of Martha (Marti) Rogers Scudder, co-founder of MDI, to the position of President, as well as Jeff McCandless and Jim Burton to the positions of Vice President, and Linda Burton to Chief Financial Officer. Joining the MDI Board of Directors were Mr. & Mrs. Woody Camp and Mr. & Mrs. Don Orr.

Radooga is expanding throughout Ukraine. The five summer English/Evangelism camps were attended by 835 Ukrainian youth, with approximately 80 Americans participating as teachers. Five hundred youth committed their lives to Christ! Radooga also provided team building seminars for ministers of youth/children and pastors from 40 churches across Ukraine, and conducted youth conferences in all four of the geographic regions of Ukraine – Kiev, Donetsk, L’viv and Odessa. Terry Warren is serving through MDI in working with Radooga on their internal staff management and project planning.

Invalid Ministry: This ministry, through New Life Center, serves invalid children and their parents throughout the city of Kiev. They provide day care, therapy and field trips for children with disabilities. MDI has been asked to help this ministry develop a strategic plan to expand this ministry. Please pray with us to discern God’s will and direction for our involvement.

New Life Church Building: Great progress has been made this past year! A very generous donation of land, right in the center of Kiev, has been given to New Life. Please pray that God will provide a partner to help them develop this land in a way that will provide a worship facility and a place for outreach that will bring glory to God. We have been praying for years for this church. Let’s continue.

MDI Women’s Conferences: In April, MDI took 16 people representing four different churches to Ukraine to host women’s conferences in Kiev and L’viv, which were attended by 450 Ukrainian women. Donors sponsored scholarships for the Ukrainians to attend the conferences, and we solicited hand made scarves to take as gifts. Knitters from several states supplied more than 700 scarves! We were blessed to give scarves to every woman who attended the conferences and the support staff, as well as other women in ministries that we visited, workers in hotels, and many more. The theme of the conferences was, “A Woman’s Journey,” with Teresa Sugar as the keynote speaker.

Loza: Loza, a Center for Christian Thought, in Kiev, Ukraine, serves the church at large, inviting Christians and non-Christians to discuss issues of the day and ask questions about life, the world and God. MDI partners as an advisory board with Ben Robinson. In January 2007, Woody Camp and Terry Warren joined MDI in the kickoff weekend for Loza. In November, Woody Camp, Steve Lorenz, Jeff McCandless, and Marti Scudder, spent a week visiting places with a similar vision in England, Slovakia, and Austria. Out of this research, a vision and strategy for developing Loza will be determined. Woody Camp is heading up this project for MDI.
